World-facing (front-facing out) carrying is suitable from 6 months up to 12 months. It is not necessary for healthy development, and it shifts the wearer’s centre of gravity forward, which may cause discomfort. Children must not sleep while world-facing—always monitor their airway and turn them back inward-facing if they show signs of overstimulation or slumping.
